2025 - 2026 DRRH6 - POA Candidate Bios

ree

It's that time of year again when owners vote for the volunteer DRRH6 - Part 1 & 2 POA Board members. Your ballots went out in the mail and are headed your way.

Before you vote, please take a moment to read the bios for the candidates to familiarize yourself with who they are. We have some new owners who have expressed interest in serving as a volunteer on the board, including a person who is interested in the vacant Treasurer position.

Thank you for reading the bios and for returning your ballots as soon as you can. There will be a self-addressed, stamped envelope in your packet that can be used to return your completed ballot.

Candidate bios for the 2025/2026 DRRH#6 POA Board

Kris Demarest: Kris is a full-time resident who works locally. The board experience has allowed her the opportunity to meet neighbors and property owners whose passion for the neighborhood have allowed the board to begin many exciting projects Kris would still like to see to fruition.  She has a background in Human Resources and Real Estate and shares her home with her husband & dog.  You'll see all of them on the trail or the river year round, usually with binoculars in hand enjoying the myriad of neighborhood wildlife.

Jim Hamilton:

Native Oregonian, father of three, moving from the valley to what I consider a paradise.

I enjoy the great outdoors-- running, hiking and exploring.  I am presently finishing a home on Mule Deer.

Already, I've discovered this is a special place and I am grateful for being here.

I am interested in meeting more of my neighbors, creating new friendships and becoming involved in making this a welcoming and respectful community for everyone.  I understand that there are all kinds of reasons why people are here-- let's enjoy it together!

Dennis King: I was born and raised in Oregon, growing up in Corvallis. I did both undergraduate and graduate studies at Western Oregon University in Monmouth prior to moving to Florence, Oregon where I taught 3rd and 4th grades until retiring.

I’m married and have two grown children.

We have a home at 16405 Mule Deer Lane and truly believe that between Florence and here we have the perfect balance.

Jen Lawrence:

My husband, Jess and I have lived here full-time for the last eleven years and can’t think of a more wonderful place to call home than DRRH6! I’m a semi-retired social worker and work seasonally for a local plant nursery in Bend.

I am interested in continuing to serve on the board and eager to keep advancing our efforts to work directly with property owners to explore what kinds of projects and improvements you’d like to see. It’s been inspiring to watch new ideas take root as our community grows and welcomes new faces.  It’s truly been an honor to serve this community, and I’d be grateful for the opportunity to continue that service on the Board.

Brittney Spencer: My husband Corey and I purchased property in September 2024 and immediately fell in love with this community. We are amazed by the ample amount of outdoor opportunities, along with the friendly and welcoming community of property owners.

I am a special education administrator for Lane Education Service District, and although our full time residence is in Eugene, we are in DRRH6 every weekend and anytime we have vacation. We have two adult children, Tanner and Jonas.

I am interested in joining the board to meet my neighbors and help contribute to an inclusive community environment.

We also have a volunteer for the open Treasurer’s position.  This is a non-voting position on the board and therefore is not on your ballot but will be appointed by the 2025/2026 Board of Directors.

Nick Coleman: I was born and raised in Oregon, graduating high school in a rural county near the Columbia River and finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the Oregon State University-Cascades Campus in Bend. Along the way, I have co-owned a restaurant while being responsible for its finances and accounting, and have done bookkeeping gigs for various local businesses. I have lived in DRRH6 for nearly two years now and wish to use my skills and knowledge to serve my community by being Treasurer on its Board. Transparency and engagement from our neighbors are among my top goals for this next year and beyond. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me, and I hope to have earned your vote!
